Every unit is drive-up, so you park at the door and load straight in, with no stairs or lifts. Book online, move in when you are ready, and come and go from 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week. Outside these hours the gates are locked.
Value
You see the live price before you book, and the only extra is a £40 padlock deposit, returned when you leave, provided the padlock is handed back, the unit is undamaged and it is left free of rubbish. Rolling terms mean you are never locked in longer than you need. Every container has an anti-condensation lining as standard, keeping your things dry.
Security
Both sites are CCTV monitored and flood lit, and every unit has its own padlock. You can add our insurance to your booking, or arrange your own contents cover. Our team is on site on weekdays, and we are a member of the Self Storage Association.

Since 2010, Saxondale Self Storage has been helping individuals and businesses find safe, convenient space for whatever they need to store. All of our units are drive-up, with access seven days a week from 7am to 7pm (outside these hours the gates are locked), and CCTV monitoring across both of our sites.

Questions we are asked most.
What sizes of unit do you offer?
We offer two sizes: a 10ft container of around 80 sq ft and a 20ft container of around 160 sq ft. Packed well, the 10ft holds the contents of a typical one or two-bedroom home and the 20ft holds the contents of a three-bedroom house.
How much does it cost?
You can see our current prices and offers on our sizes and prices page. The live price is always shown when you book, before you pay.
What is the £40 padlock charge?
It is a deposit for the padlock we provide. It is returned when you leave, provided the padlock is handed back, the unit is undamaged and it is left free of rubbish.
When do I pay for my unit?
You reserve your unit online, and payment is only taken once your booking is confirmed. Nothing is charged while you are simply checking availability.
How do I book a unit?
Choose your site, check availability, pick your start date and book online on our booking page. We will confirm everything by email before you arrive.
Can I drive up to my unit?
Yes, every unit is drive-up, so you can park right at the door and load straight in. Please note HGVs are not able to access either site; cars, vans and small trailers are fine.
When can I get access?
Both sites are open 7am to 7pm, seven days a week. Outside these hours the gates are locked. Once your booking is confirmed, access is usually ready within ten minutes. Book online and we will send your access details straight away.
How do I open my unit?
It is straightforward. Here is our short video guide, which shows you step by step. Watch the video guide on YouTube.
Is the site secure?
Both sites are CCTV monitored and there is no access between 7pm and 7am, when the gates are locked.
Can businesses use your units?
Yes. Many customers store stock, tools and equipment with us, on the same flexible terms.
What can I not store?
Anything flammable, perishable or illegal is not permitted, along with motor vehicles, quad bikes, motorbikes and anything that could leak fluid. We will talk you through the full list when you book.
Do I need my own insurance?
Your goods should be insured. Cover options are shown when you book, or you can arrange your own.
What are your office hours?
Our site office is staffed 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Unit access runs well beyond this, seven days a week. See "When can I get access" above.
Can I message you on WhatsApp?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp and the Saxondale team will reply within working hours.
Can I view a site first?
Yes. Use the Book a viewing option, or call us on 0300 124 7544, and we will arrange a time.
How do I find the site?
